Arthur R. Zias
April 11, 1937 - May 6, 2009
| Art Zias: Art's life was all about family, music, electronics, physics, socializing and joke telling with friends from all walks of life. Art was a unique, authentic individual with an outsized personality. He was known for his wonderment and fascination with all things knowable. He pushed himself and encouraged others to think and reason beyond traditional boundaries and disciplines – at once summoning his vast knowledge of philosophy, science, history, religion and the arts to attack all his intellectual interests. His devotion to life-long learning informed his twin passions of music and engineering/physics. |

James Godwin
May 28,1964- May 28, 2004
| James Godwin: A fine trumpet player that had been with A Touch of Brass for a couple years. When we decided to start a web site, Jamie agreed to take on the task. Shortly after the site was up and running( although still under construction) Jamie became very ill with a very rare and devastating cancer. He was unable to complete work on the web site, nor was he able to resume his duties in the trumpet section. It was a long and difficult battle, but he never gave up; even to the end. |

Jim Harris
April 27, 1958 - July 23, 2004
| Jim Harris: Jim was a wonderful guitarist that I met at the Church on the Hill in San Jose . When he visited our web site and noticed it was still “under construction”, he offered to finish it for us. Being web master for Hewlett Packard, the task was easy. He finished loading the sound clips and up-dated all the info, as well as suggesting we do a “Tribute Page” for Jamie. Little did he know he would be soon fighting his own cancer-related battle. |
